We will be holding the "Watanabe's Indigo Works Exhibition."


[9/1-10/31] The "Watanabe's Indigo Works Exhibition" has begun in the shop and gallery space.
Watanabes has a workshop in Tokushima, where they continue to take on new challenges every day, while carrying on the traditional Japanese indigo dyeing culture and exploring new indigo dyeing methods.
This project will span two months and will include screenings of production footage and weaving using indigo-dyed thread.
Look forward to Awa indigo accessories that change over time.

Watanabezu has a dyeing workshop in Tokushima, inherits the traditional Japanese indigo dyeing culture, explores new indigo dyeing, and continues to challenge every day.
This time, it will be a two-month project, and we are also planning to screen production videos and weave machines using yarn dyed indigo.

Watanabe's is a workshop in Kamiita Town, Tokushima Prefecture, that handles everything from making the indigo dye (sukumo) to dyeing.
This exhibition will mainly feature small items such as hair bands and drawstring bags made from yarn-dyed fabric. Please come and take a look.
We are also planning two workshops on the following dates, one available by reservation and one available on a rolling basis.
[Reservations accepted] Indigo-dyed coaster production workshop. You will hand-weave three coasters using indigo-dyed thread.
September 28th (Sun) 11:00-13:00 / Up to 8 people / ¥3,800 (tax included) * Includes ¥500 drink charge
[Registration open at any time] Indigo dyed strap making workshop. Make a strap by twisting together indigo dyed parts.
September 28th (Sun) Reception hours: 12:00-16:00 / Production time: 30-60 minutes / ¥2,500 (tax included)
