About Wasanbon

All the dried sweets at the sunrise production office are made from hand -carved confectionery wood and hand -made Wasanbon sugar. With a gentle sweetness and elegant taste, it is unique to Wasanbon sugar that melts lightly when it is included in the mouth.
Wasanbon Sugar is a kind of sugar that is traditionally produced in the eastern Shikoku, and is made from a special variety of sugarcane called "Hosokibi", which grew up in a warm climate and natural environment in Setouchi. It is sugar. And the dried confections that harden the Japanese Bon Sugar are called Wasanbon.

At HIYORI FACTORY, wagashi craftmen use hand-carved wooden molds to make all the sugar candies made from Wasambon sugar which is also handmade.Wasambon sugar is one kind of sugar made by from traditional methods passed down in the Sanuki area. We solidify and dry THE WASAMBON SUGAR AND THEN it Turns Into Sugar Cubes Called “Wasambon”.
